Join us for our FALL Bible Study on Forgiveness: Making Peace with the Past from the LifeGuide series. We meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. We offer both in-person and Zoom options. The 8-week Bible study will begin on September 20th.

Description of study: “Forgiveness is a door. It’s the way to peace and joy. But it’s a small door, and it can’t be entered without stooping–or kneeling. And sometimes it is very hard to find. When we hurt the people we love, how do we go about restoring the relationship? When we suffer the pain of betrayal or injury or rejection from someone else, how do we deal with the anger and resentment we feel?” In this study we will see the way to help you discover, understand and practice what the Bible says about forgiveness.
Books are $10. Email Steve at sdoyal7@gmail.com.

If you need the Zoom link please contact the office at 865-689-3349 or email pastorSteve@bookwalter-umc.org

This four-week Advent study focuses on the experiences of four sets of often overlooked characters in the Nativity story. During this Advent season, Rachel Billups guides readers through the themes of hope, love, joy, and peace by sharing the stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Herod, the Magi, and the shepherds. Each set of unexpected characters has something to teach about living faithfully on the journey to Christmas.
DATES: Sunday, Nov 26 from 3:00-4:00pm, Wednesdays — Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec 13 from 6:30-7:30pm.

If you are interested in participating in this Advent study, please see Pat Newman or send an email to patn.106@gmail.com. Books are $10. Anyone who feels they are financially unable to purchase the book, please contact Pat Newman at the email address listed above.
Books will be ordered on Oct. 15, 2023.
